Sweet Home Chicago
The image above was taken one of the free evenings we had. We got back to our hotel around 9:30pm and I wasn't tired in the least bit. It was one of those warm pleasant evenings that I love. I suggested we go for a walk. So we walked Lake to State, then up Washington and through Millenium Park. The iconic Chicago Theater marquee is one of my favorite landmarks in the city. Here I just tried to give it my own flare by capturing an image of it that was different from others I've seen. More images of this night walk can be seen in my Chicago gallery. The second week away was spent in Vegas. Stayed for images from that adventure! Suggestions of Things to Do and Places to Eat and Rest in Chicago: Art Institute Walk Millenium Park Buckingham Fountain light show (another on of my favorite landmarks) Shopping: State Street (affordable) or Michigan Ave (a bit pricer) Visit Lincoln Square (Western stop off Brown line)- This was my old neighborhood. It has cute boutique shops and yummy places to eat. I recommend Spoon and Pannenkoeken Cafe (both on Western), Daily, La Bocca della Verita, and Garcia's (all on Lincoln). The Southern Mac & Cheese Shop- I just found this gem on this past trip. It's gourmet mac&cheese at it's finest and super affordable. You can find them on Lake between Michigan and State. Wildberry Cafe- delicious breakfast and lunch dishes at an affordable price. It's an easy walk from the Radisson and Millenium Park. Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel: I call it the Wave building. It's location is perfect, easy walk to almost everything especially to the L (Lake/State is the closest stop). It has great views of the city and great amenities. You will not be disappointed.
