"Summer Blossom"

Happy 4th!! Hope everyone had a fun time celebrating yesterday.  The 4th of July week is the perfect time to introduce a series I've been working on for awhile now.  Especially since there were fireworks galore this week.  The series all started with a trip to NYC in 2010, when I captured an image I now call NYC Snow 2010 (click for image).  I was messing around with the shutter speed and adding movement to the camera when exposing images.  It was the first time I really started to see light differently.  In a way that the naked eye doesn't process.  It's only with the above manipulations that the camera can see and capture something new with light.  Ever since this NYC trip I have been addicted to playing with light whenever I can.  I enjoy the results I've been getting and the abstract qualities that occasionally present themselves in the images.

At this point I consider this an on-going series as I find new light to play with.  So far it started with stationary lights displays, on to fireworks, next neon signs, and then lit architecture.  I look forward to uncovering new situations to play with light.  Click Light Play to see all the images in this series so far.

Cheers!
